When you watch Snow White's intricate, graceful movements of fingers, arms, and head all in one shot, it is not the technical brilliance of Disney's artists that leaps out at you, but the very spirit of her engaging, girl-woman character. When the wicked queen's poisoned apple turns from killer green to rose red, the effect of knowing something so beautiful can be so terrible is absolutely elemental, so pure it forces one to surrender to the horror of it. Based on the Grimm fairy tale, Snow White is probably the best family film ever to deal, in mythic terms, with the psychological foundation for growing up. Rating: 5 The Platinum Edition of Snow White has a hidden treat: the theatrical French release of the movie. It's more than just dialogue and songs dubbed into French; the credits and even artwork in the film are all in French too! Watch it with the English subtitles turned on for a rather different "Snow White"! Snow White DVD from top quality seller Rating: 5 DVD was carefully packed and shipped to us quickly. Discs, case, and inserts all in great condition upon receipt of product. This was a "surprise" movie for our 3 year old daughter to watch on our airplane ride to Disney World last month. No problems with the viewing of the movie. Thanks for making the vacation even more special for a little girl (and for her parents!).
