This packed double-disc is the slim option for fans who find the Eagles' vaunted greatest hits sets too little and the boxed set too hefty. Hit singles large and medium are here, often ("One of These Nights," "Hotel California") still sounding definitive and even tough. Large helpings of favorite album cuts are also included, along with a taster from a promised 2004 Eagles studio reunion. Unfortunately, "Hole in the World," Don Henley's response to September 11, feels just as empty and entitled as "Get Over It," the band's previous state-of-the-union message (from which the newer song represents a philosophical 180-degree turn). But for those seeking an overview of this Southern California juggernaut's successes, as well as telling comments from band members--mostly Henley and Frey--in a well-designed booklet, Very Best will more than do. --Rickey Wright

I am very disappointed
Rating: 2
The whole reason i bought this cd was to be able to listen to it in my car. However, it will not play at all in the car. Lower quality cd's and cd's that are made at home quality will not play on my cd player, so I thought by ordering them on Amazon I would get new cd's that were good quality.
The Best of the Eagles -2CD

We have thoroughly enjoyed these two CDs. They take us back to the days when these songs first came out. True nostalgia!! A must for any Eagles fan!!
Best Rock Group in America
Rating: 5
I got this CD for Christmas, because I liked a few of the Eagles songs and figured I would try it out. Little did I know that I would be listening to this CD over and over. Almost every song on the CD is good, even the songs that werent "major" hits. The Eagles have a way of writing songs that are very catchy, but also very identifiable with anyone.
The first CD definetly contains most of their major hits, and in my opinion best songs. The 2nd CD contains a few "filler" songs, but other than that, every penny was worth it!
The Eagles have very few what I call "Filler" songs or songs that were not hits that they add to their albums.
I would say that the only other CD I found that has so many good songs on it, is the Journey Greatest Hits CD, which also has no real "filler" songs but were all hits on the radio.
